Cancer, Lyme Disease and Whole-Person Support: Inside Hippocrates Wellness
A closer look at the Florida destination’s cancer wellness and Lyme programs, their focus on daily life, and the evidence questions that matter when planning a stay.

A whole-person question
For someone facing cancer or the lasting effects of Lyme disease, practical concerns can extend well beyond an appointment: how to manage a disrupted routine, make sense of wellness options, and find support for daily life. Hippocrates Wellness in West Palm Beach approaches that conversation through residential wellness education. Its program listings include a Comprehensive Cancer Wellness Program and a Lyme and Chronic Inflammation Program. These offerings merit a closer look at both what a stay involves and what the available evidence can establish.
What the cancer wellness program describes
Hippocrates presents its cancer wellness offering as a four-week program that can be incorporated alongside standard medical care. Its published description combines plant-based nutrition, lifestyle education, wellness coaching and group talks. The page also lists massage, acupuncture and additional services, including nutrient infusions and oxygen sessions. Those are descriptions of services, not evidence that the package improves cancer survival or produces remission. A prospective guest should obtain the current schedule and discuss each proposed intervention with their oncology team before booking.
The Lyme program’s focus on everyday patterns
The current Lyme program page emphasizes education, living-food nutrition, movement, rest, stress regulation and habits intended to continue at home. Hippocrates calls its organizing framework the Terrain Restoration Model. That is the organization’s description of its wellness approach; the term does not establish that the program eliminates the bacteria responsible for Lyme disease. For a prospective guest, useful questions include how activities are adapted to fatigue or mobility limitations and how the program would coordinate with an existing clinician.
Cancer: support and treatment outcomes are different questions
The National Cancer Institute reports that no special diet, food, supplement or herb has been proved to cure cancer. NCCIH notes that some complementary approaches may help with particular symptoms or treatment side effects, while also warning that certain products can interfere with cancer treatment. Evidence for an individual supportive practice does not validate every service in a residential package. This review did not identify controlled clinical evidence establishing that the Hippocrates program cures cancer. A wellness stay should not replace or delay recommended cancer treatment.
Lyme disease: persistent symptoms deserve careful evaluation
CDC describes antibiotics as the treatment for Lyme disease. Some people experience ongoing fatigue, pain or thinking difficulties after treatment, and the causes of these prolonged symptoms are not fully understood. CDC recommends working with a healthcare provider to evaluate possible causes and plan care. This review did not identify controlled clinical evidence establishing that Hippocrates’ residential program cures Lyme disease. Feeling better, improving daily function and demonstrating that an infection has been treated are separate outcomes that require different kinds of evidence.
How to assess a program before making a commitment
Ask for a written account of what is included, who delivers each service, the relevant professional licenses, and how the program handles medical concerns that arise during a stay. Ask how dietary needs, prescribed medicines, mobility, rest and ongoing appointments will be accommodated. Request the complete price and cancellation terms. If an outcome claim influences the decision, ask for the underlying study, the measured outcome, the number of participants and any other treatment they received. Personal recovery accounts can describe meaningful experiences, but cannot by themselves establish what caused a remission or recovery.
